The project 'Safe and Fair: Realizing women migrant workers’ rights and opportunities in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region' is part of the EU-UN Spotlight Initiative to eliminate violence against women and girls, a global, multi-year initiative between the EU and the United Nations (UN). The Safe and Fair programme is a 25 million euro investment implemented through a partnership between ILO and UN Women with the overriding objective of ensuring that labour migration is safe and fair for all women in the ASEAN region, namely: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam.

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has awarded Triangle Environmental Health Initiative LLC a Definitive Contract worth $2,874,682 USD to implement the Solid Waste Accountability Platform (SWAP) project in urban Cambodia. Triangle Environmental Health Initiative LLC is a limited liability company that specializes in global health, environmental, and social services. The project aims to improve solid waste service provision in the country by providing an online platform that provides information about waste services, tracks waste management performance, and enables transparent decision making. This project is expected to result in improved solid waste service provision in Cambodia, which is located in Southeast Asia, bordered by Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam.

Cloudburst Consulting Group, Inc. has been awarded a Definitive Contract by the Agency for International Development (USAID) for a project to be implemented in Cambodia. The contract is worth a total of $22,305.10 USD. Cloudburst is an international development consulting firm established in 2003, providing technical assistance, research and evaluation, and capacity building services to over 50 countries. USAID is an American government agency responsible for providing economic, development, and humanitarian assistance worldwide, established in 1961. This contract will fund a project to increase the capacity of local organizations in Cambodia to protect against external threats and organizational vulnerabilities that impact resiliency. The goal is to increase the capacity of local organizations in the country and ultimately reduce poverty, increase economic stability, and promote democracy.

I4DI was awarded a $3 million, three-year prime contract from USAID in Cambodia, South East Asia, where we are working to address growing issues stemming from inadequate waste disposal sites and practices including traditional trash burning. We are facilitating the emergence of a circular economy by creating an advanced technology platform to connect citizens and entrepreneurs and report, track, analyze, and measure progress. The goal is to foster household behavior change and private sector investments that operationalize the country’s Reduce, Reuse, Recycle strategy for leveraging market forces to solve waste management problems.

USAID/Cambodia has awarded Nickol Global Solutions (NGS) its first prime contract – the three-year, $3 million One Window Service Offices – Platform to Enhance Accountability (OWSO-PEA) Activity. Supported by local partners InSTEDD iLab Southeast Asia and Advocacy and Policy Institute (API), NGS will lead the OWSO-PEA Activity, which aims to increase the capability of civilsociety to engage in political processes. The award is part of USAID’s Small Business Applied Research (SBAR) pilot, a field-based initiative that establishes a streamlined and unique pathwayfor the Agency to expand its access to U.S. small businesses for solutions to some of the world’smost daunting development challenges.

Feed the Future Cambodia (Harvest 2)

The Agency for International Development (USAID) has awarded ABT Associates Inc., a global consulting and operations research company, a Definitive Contract worth $21,224,953 USD for the Feed the Future Cambodia Harvest II Activity. This project will take place in Cambodia, a small, landlocked country in Southeast Asia with a population of over 16 million people. The project aims to increase sustainable economic opportunities within a market-based and inclusive horticulture value chain in Cambodia. USAID and ABT Associates Inc. will work together to provide assistance to Cambodian people in the areas of health, food security, economic growth, education, democracy and governance, and humanitarian assistance. ABT Associates Inc. has expertise in health and nutrition, economic and social policy, applied technology, education and training, and international development, making them well-placed to help the people of Cambodia.

National Early Grade Learning Program

Research Triangle Institute (RTI), an international non-profit research organization, has been awarded a Delivery Order worth $13,976,303 USD by the US Agency for International Development (USAID). This project is to be implemented in the Kingdom of Cambodia, and its goal is to improve early grade reading skills of Cambodian children in grades one to three, including those with disabilities. USAID will collaborate with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MOEYS) and the Global Partnership for Education to implement the National Early Grade Learning Program in at least five provinces. The project seeks to support the ability of Cambodian systems to improve reading at scale, make improvements along the entire education value chain and promote greater coherence in the approach to early grade reading. USAID is an independent agency of the US government established in 1961, and its mission is to improve the lives of people in developing countries and promote stable, prosperous societies.

Cambodia Malaria Elimination Project

USAID, the United States Government’s principal international development agency, has awarded University Research Co., LLC a Definitive Contract worth $16,543,857 USD for the Cambodia Malaria Elimination Project. University Research Co., LLC is a social profit enterprise that provides research and technical services to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. The Cambodia Malaria Elimination Project will take place in Cambodia, a small country in Southeast Asia bordered by Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam. The project aims to reduce the burden of malaria in Cambodia by strengthening the National Malaria Control Program and providing technical assistance and capacity building. This partnership between USAID and University Research Co., LLC will contribute to improved health, economic growth, and sustainable development in the country.

Cambodian Civil Society Strengthening project is a contract awarded to EastWest Management Institute Inc. by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). This contract is worth $9,198,671 USD and its purpose is to strengthen the capacity of Cambodian Civil Society Organizations and improve their effectiveness in providing services to the public. The project is taking place in Cambodia, a Southeast Asian country with a population of over 16 million. The project will involve activities such as strengthening civil society organizations, providing technical assistance and training, creating an enabling environment for these organizations, and improving coordination and collaboration amongst them. Ultimately, this project has the potential to drive positive change in Cambodia through improved advocacy for and protection of citizen rights, as well as increased capacity for civil society organizations to provide services to the public.

Voice

Voice is an innovative grant facility to support rightsholders and groups facing marginalisation or discrimination in their efforts to exert influence in accessing productive and social services and political participation. Voice operates in a context where civic space and power is shifting at a fast pace, and often closing rather than opening. Where the narrative is negative and underlining marginalisation and vulnerability, rather than the dreams and successful steps made towards a better, more inclusive world. Voice is implemented in ten countries in Africa and Asia.Voice is an initiative of and financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands as part of their overall policy framework ‘Dialogue and Dissent’ (future Power of Voices) and is executed by a consortium between Oxfam Novib and Hivos. Hivos is the coordinated body in four countries: Indonesia, Philippines, Kenya and Tanzania , while Oxfam coordinates Voice in six: Laos, Cambodia, Uganda, Niger, Mali and Nigeria.
