Improved Competitiveness of National Enterprises (ICONE)

The ICONE program (Improved Competitiveness of National Enterprises) is a project implemented by the Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). Its goal is to improve the productivity, efficiency, and innovation capabilities of national enterprises in Cambodia, specifically in the northwest provinces of Siem Reap, Battambang, and Banteay Meanchey. The program will work with the Cambodia Academy of Digital Technology (CADT) to introduce digital applications and solutions, provide digital skills training, and host knowledge exchange events in these provinces. It will also promote the use of data-driven innovation in the processing and manufacturing industries and provide capacity building for government officials and other relevant actors to support the growth of Cambodian companies. The program includes a talent placement program that will match CADT's top students with promising enterprises in these provinces to work on digital projects for three months. The goal of the program is to close the digital gap between Phnom Penh and the northwest provinces and to support the development of a modern and diversified economy in Cambodia.
